"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" — Isaiah 6:8 (NIV)
Reflection
In a moment of pure encounter with the holiness of God, Isaiah does not bargain, delay, or list his qualifications. He simply offers himself. The vision of God's glory has already undone him ("Woe to me! I am ruined!"), and the coal from the altar has already cleansed him. Only then does the call come—not as a burden, but as an invitation. Isaiah's answer is immediate and wholehearted: "Here am I. Send me."
That posture still marks every true servant of God. Availability precedes ability. Willingness precedes understanding of the assignment. The Lord is still asking the same question in our generation. He is looking for people who will say yes before they know the details—people who trust that the One who sends will also equip, sustain, and go with them.
Saying "Here I am" does not require perfection. It requires honesty before a holy God and a heart ready to be used. Isaiah's response was not self-confidence; it was surrendered confidence in the God who had already touched and purified him. The same grace that cleanses us is the grace that commissions us.

Prayer
Lord, You are still holy, and You are still calling. Cleanse my heart of excuses, fear, and self-reliance. Give me ears to hear Your voice and a willing spirit to answer. Here I am. Send me—wherever, however, to whomever You choose. Let my life be available for Your purposes today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Closing Thought
The most powerful ministry begins not with a five-year plan, but with two simple words spoken to a holy God: "Send me."
